		Are there any foolproof ways to visualize how a piece of carpeting under the fluorescent lighting at the store is going to look in my home?

		Whenever possible, ask to borrow carpet samples of colors and styles you're interested in so you may bring them home and see what the color will look like under your lighting and with other furnishings and decorative elements already in place. Make sure to look at the samples during the daytime and at night by lamplight. Most retailers allow customers to borrow samples so they can be assured of selecting the right color and avoid surprises when their carpet is installed.
